I am continuing my earlier blog on illusions.This is a follow-up to that post.
Mankind has created an illusion around itself.Have you ever wondered: “Why the heck do I need to know what is the value of pi or any such other thing you deem useless for basic survival? This is because other than our physical needs, human beings also have psychological needs. We need to feel that we are in control of everything in our world.You may argue that numbers are useful to us, they help us know our world better.That being said, why do we need to know better about our world?
So we create our own shell of numbers and logic, and retreat into it.This is not strange or exceptional behaviour; we actually do need to perceive that we control something, or else we would go insane in this dark, empty world.
